COERR Mae Sarieng and Mae Sot Supported Youth Campaign on Waste Collection for Better World

   Waste Collection for Better World was a campaign in which children and youth were encouraged to become involved, in order to motivate themselves and other community members that community areas could be cleaner and better if we reduce resource consumption, thus reducing reduce waste.

   COERR Mae Sarieng launched this Waste Collection Campaign Activity in Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter in Mae Hong Son’s Sob Moei District, on June 19, 2021, in which 112 children and youth of 75 female and 37 male participated.

   The campaign started in 5 locations to avoid crowded participants. Children and youth were informed about problem of garbage that clogged the waterway, harmful effect of garbage, diseases brought by garbage and beautiful scenery of community without garbage. Then participants were equipped with gloves, plastic bags, etc. They walked along the path, roadsides, waterway; collecting garbage and dropped in the plastic bag. Once the bag was full, it was wrapped and placed in the waste collection point.

   COERR Mae Sot organized anti litter campaign ‘Put Rubbish In The Bin’ at Mae La Temporary Shelter in Tak Province’s Tha Song Yang District, on June 21, 2021. There were 100 participants, consisting of 37 females and 63 males.

   ‘Put Rubbish In The Bin’ Campaign for shops, was organized on June 25, 2021. There were 85 youth of 47 females and 38 males participating.

   The process was to walk along the community roads and, especially, waterway, where litters were found, and place the cleanliness campaign signs to draw public attraction and awareness.
